Umali joins disability rights week celebration in Roxas

Oriental Mindoro Rep. Alfonso “PA” Umali Jr. joined the celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week in the Municipality of Roxas, reaffirming his support for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Umali expressed his gratitude for being part of the event together with his daughter, Steph Umali, describing the celebration as a meaningful gathering that highlights respect and compassion for the PWD community.

“Masaya at taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat na nakasama namin kayo ng aking anak na si Steph Umali sa makabuluhang pagdiriwang na ito. Nanatili po sa ating puso ang paggalang at malasakit para sa ating mga Persons with Disabilities (PWD),” Umali said.

“Salamat sa LGU ng Roxas sa pangunguna ni Mayor Jerwin Dimapilis, Vice Mayor Robert Quiatchon, at SB Member Panga Bacay sa paanyaya at patuloy na suporta,” he said.

During the program, Umali extended assistance to the PWD community by donating 20 packs of rice, along with commemorative mugs to support the event’s activities.

“Higit sa anumang handog, nais nating iparamdam na kayo ay mahalaga, may kakayahan, at may pantay na lugar sa ating lipunan,” Umali added.

“Patuloy nating ipaglaban ang isang lipunang pantay para sa lahat,” he said.
